Pentecostal Church wall collapses, killing 13 people
Late Thursday night tragedy struck when thirteen people were confirmed dead after a section of a Church building collapsed on them, in South Africa’s eMpangeni area, KwaZulu-Natal north coast.
Part of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in a small village of Dlangubo, KwaZulu-Natal Province collapsed due to heavy storms killing thirteen worshippers and injuring sixteen others. According to the state-owned South African Broadcasting Corporation, SABC, the disaster happened at an Easter Passover service.
The Durban Ecumenical Good Friday Service and silent procession
On Friday morning, the Ecumenical Good Friday Service took place in the City of Durban concluding in a silent procession with the Cross.
According to organisers, the Ecumenical Good Friday Service early Friday morning was designed to give people an opportunity to clearly demonstrate their faith in a united ecumenical and prophetic witness.
Blessed are the Peacemakers
The theme of this year’s Ecumenical Good Service was, “Blessed are the Peacemakers for they will be called children of God” and the Preacher was Reverend Thato Tsautse of the Anglican Church, Diocese of Pretoria.
After the Service, there was a silent procession to the Durban City Hall, where the proceedings concluded.
