5th anniversary of Pope Francis taking possession of the Diocese of Rome

Less than a month after his election to the papacy, Pope Francis took possession of his diocese as the bishop of Rome. At a special celebration at St. John Lateran on the Second Sunday of Easter, the Holy Father rejoiced in the mercy and patience of God. He said God has “an immense and profound love for us, a love that never fails and always holds us by the hand”.
