Pope's video message to National Catholic Youth Conference

Pope Francis sends a video message to the young people of the United States who are attending the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis.

By Francesca Merlo

Pope Francis expressed his hope that the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) may be "an opportunity to strengthen and increase faith an communion" for all the young people attending.

The Conference takes place from 21 to 23 November in Indianapolis and discusses the theme "Blessed, Broken, Given".

"Today", said Pope Francis, "we must go towards each person". It is our duty to do so. He urged all young people to go out to the "peripheries" and "bring the Lord" to their peers who perhaps "do not know" Him.

Finally, the Pope urged the youth at NCYC to fill the environments they frequent by bearing witness to the tenderness and mercy of Jesus.
