Pope meets the Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino

Pope Francis met with the Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino, Their Excellencies Ms. Maria Luisa Berti and Mr. Manuel Ciavatta, in the Vatican on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the Holy See Press Office, the discussions between the Pope and San Marino's two Heads of State were "cordial" and highlighted "the excellent existing relations between the Holy See and the Republic of San Marino."
Attention, the statement said, "turned to issues of an international nature, with particular attention to the developments of the conflict in Ukraine, relations with Europe, and migration."
They also discussed the mutual wish to strengthen cooperation within the framework of multilateral diplomacy, and a number of matters of interest to San Marino's society.
After meeting with Pope Francis, the Captains Regent met with Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Msgr. Mirosław Wachowski, Vatican Undersecretary for Relations with States.
