St. Maria Goretti, Virgin and Martyr
One of the Church’s youngest canonized saints, Maria Goretti died at age eleven defending her chastity against the man who murdered her. Her forgiveness of her aggressor worked in him a miracle of conversion after her death. Her feast day is celebrated on July 6.
