Charles Borromeo was just 22 years old when he was created Cardinal by his uncle, Pope Pius IV. After the death of his brother, Charles felt called to a deeper observance of the Christian life. He convinced the Pope to re-open the Council of Trent, and as a Bishop was a model of charity.
