Holy See welcomes 12 priests released from prison in Nicaragua

The director of the Holy See Press Office confirms that the Holy See has been asked to take in 12 recently released priests from Nicaragua, who will reside in facilities of the Diocese of Rome.

"I can confirm that the Holy See has been asked to receive 12 priests from Nicaragua who were recently released from prison. The Holy See has accepted."

The director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni, offered that response to questions put to him by journalists.

"They will be welcomed by an official of the Secretariat of State in the afternoon," continued Mr. Bruni, "and lodged in several facilities of the Diocese of Rome."
