Haiti assassination plot thickens
By James Blears
Haitian origin US Citizens James Solanges and Joseph Vincent claim they were translators for the armed gang and thought the intention was to depose President Jovenel Moise, but had no knowledge he was to be murdered.
No one in the President`s so called bodyguard unit was harmed, and an investigation is underway as to why they didn`t fight back against a hit squad armed to the teeth, with high caliber semi automatic rifles, pistols, sledge hammers and machetes.
Twenty six of these men are retired Colombian soldiers, who became soldiers of fortune mercenaries. Haitian Authorities say that their ring leaders were in the country for three months, plotting this outrage. Banded together, they murdered President Moise and shot his wife Martine multiple times. She has been airlifted to hospital in Miami and will survive.
A Political power struggle is now underway between Interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph and Ariel Henry, who was nominated Prime Minister by President Moise, the day before he was assassinated. Meanwhile National Police Chief Leon Charles is still hunting for the murderous masterminds behind this, saying: "We have the perpitrators. Now we`re seeking the instigators."
