Mozambique: Beira Theological Week reflects on Jubilee 2025

The event brought together theologians from different parts of Mozambique, including Bishops, priests, religious men and women, and lay people. The opening ceremony was presided over by the Archbishop of Beira, Archbishop Claudio Dalla Zuanna, S.C.I.
Our faith, a sign of hope to the country
In his opening address, the Prelate proposed that the Theological Week should be an opportunity to reflect on the support that the Church can give to the country’s renewal, a sign of hope in all its dimensions, taking into account the economic and social situation.
Jubilee Year and country’s golden anniversary
Thus, the 28th edition of the Theological Week in the Archdiocese of Beira also became the start of preparations for celebrating the Holy Year 2025. By happy coincidence, the Year 2025 will also be the 50th anniversary of Mozambique’s independence and the 100th anniversary of the Cathedral of Beira.
Over five days, various topics were discussed and debated with the aim of proposing homegrown solutions for the pastoral situation of Mozambican society..
