Pope's appeal to celebrate '24 Hours for the Lord'
The annual ‘24 hours for the Lord’ initiative of Pope Francis will be held on Friday with a penitential celebration in St. Peter’s Basilica.
‘The 24 hours for the Lord’ is an opportunity for people to avail themselves of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This annual event is now organized and promoted by the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization. Archbishop Salvatore Fisichella, President of the Council says that the objective is to offer to all, especially to those who feel uncomfortable entering a church, the opportunity to see the merciful embrace of God.
