Pope’s October missionary prayer intention: The Mission of Religious
In his prayer intention for the month of October, Pope Francis says that more than ever, with the challenges of today’s world, we need the complete dedication of religious to be present among the poor, the marginalized, and those who have no voice.
It has become the custom of Pope Francis to release a video message detailing his prayer intention for each month.
The full text of his intention is below:
Religious, with their prayer, poverty, and patience, are essential to the Church's mission.
More than ever, with the challenges of today's world, we need their complete dedication to proclaiming the Gospel.
Let us not allow ourselves to be robbed of missionary enthusiasm and let us pray that consecrated religious men and women may bestir themselves, and be present among the poor, the marginalized, and those who have no voice.
Earlier this month Pope Francis released a video message inviting Catholics to Pray for the Church as part of a special campaign entitled #PrayForTheChurch.
The Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network of the Apostleship of Prayer developed "The Pope Video" initiative to assist in the worldwide dissemination of the monthly intentions of the Holy Father in relation to the challenges facing humanity.
