Pope calls for prayers for peace and for the Synod
By Christopher Wells
In remarks following the Angelus on Sunday, Pope Francis recalled that the month of October is dedicated both to the mission and to the Most Holy Rosary. He invited the faithful to not grow weary of “invoking, through the intercession of Mary, the gift of peace upon the many countries of the world marked by wars and conflicts.”
In particular, he remembered “dear Ukraine, which suffers so much, so much every day.”
Accompanying the Synod with prayer
The Holy Father also took the occasion to thank all those who are following they Synod, especially those who are accompanying the gathering with their prayers.
He described the ongoing Synod as “an ecclesial event of listening, sharing, and fraternal communion in the Spirit,” and invited everyone “to entrust its work to the Holy Spirit.”
