Yemen's Houthi rebels have accused the Saudi-led coalition of launching five drone strikes on the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah.

Reports from Yemen say the attacks targeted Houthi military positions in the south of the city.

The Saudi-led coalition and the Yemeni government has not commented.

The city has witnessed an unsteady cease-fire between the Yemeni government forces backed by the Saudi-led coalition and the Houthi militia since a United Nations-sponsored truce was reached in 2018.

The Houthis control the port city while the government forces have advanced to the southern suburbs.

Sporadic fighting between Yemen's warring sides has increased over the past two months after a UN-brokered national truce fell apart in October last year.

Yemen has been embroiled in a civil war since late 2014 when the Iran-backed Houthi militia stormed several northern cities and forced the Saudi-backed Yemeni government out of the capital Sanaa.
