Israel says it has stuck more than 300 Hamas targets over the last 24-hours. Israel has been bombing Gaza for over a fortnight in response to the killing of 1,400 Israelis by Hamas three weeks ago.

On Monday night, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected calls for a ceasefire, saying "this is a time for war"

For there part, Hamas said they fired anti-tank missiles at Israeli vehicles and exchanged gunfire with Israeli soldiers in north and south Gaza.

Meanwhile, the United States says it’s optimistic that the amount of aid trucks into Gaza will soon increase to about 100 a day.

Over the weekend, UNRWA reported that thousands of Gaza residents broke into warehouses to grab basic survival items such as flour.

The organization said it was a worrying sign that civil order was beginning to crumble. At the same time, the International Red Cross warned there was no adequate humanitarian response currently possible in Gaza.

Meanwhile, since cuts at the weekend, phone and internet services are gradually returning to Gaza. Connections were severed by Israel as it intensified its bombardment of the territory.
