Concentrated fighting is ongoing in Gaza, where attacks continue in the southern region of Khan Younis.

As of Tuesday, Israeli airstrikes and raids by land forces are ongoing around the Gaza Strip. Residents say fighting has increased in Khan Younis, with Israeli jets and tanks pacing up attacks in the region.

Mark Regev, an adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, says the war in Gaza is "a marathon, not a sprint". He also said that Israel is removing some of its troops from Gaza in preparation for renewed fighting.

Fighting in the West Bank and Syria

Elsewhere, four Palestinians were killed in the West Bank on Tuesday in clashes with the Israeli army.

In a separate development, the Israel Defense Forces said they struck military infrastructure belonging to the Syrian Army overnight in response to launches toward Israeli territory.

This conflict erupted in October after at least 1,200 people were killed when Hamas militants attacked Israel and took over 200 others hostage.

The Hamas-controlled health ministry in Gaza says more than 22,000 people have been killed in the territory since Israel started its retaliatory operation.
